🧸 Toys Recalled in 2025 — What Parents & Educators Should Know

Keeping children safe is always the top priority. In 2025, several toys were recalled due to choking hazards, loose magnets, structural issues, or defects that could cause injury. Staying informed about toy recalls helps parents, caregivers, and educators ensure the items children play with every day are safe and age-appropriate.

Below are some of the most notable toy recalls from this year, along with why they were pulled from shelves.

✅ Major Toy Recalls of 2025

Fisher-Price “Brunch & Go” Stroller Toys & “SnugaPuppy” Tissue-Box Toy

  • In April 2025, Fisher-Price recalled over 253,000 stroller toys after the “egg” teether cracked, creating small pieces that could pose a choking hazard.

  • Part of the same recall involved 15,300 tissue-box toys included with certain activity centers. These items could break or detach, creating dangerous small parts.

Parents are urged to take these toys away from children immediately and contact Fisher-Price for replacement options.

Pearhead Infant Learning Set (Model 87150)

  • Recalled in January 2025 because the included wooden egg-shaped rattle could become lodged in an infant’s throat.

  • Sold for babies 0–6 months — but the rattle did not meet federal safety standards for infant toys.

If you purchased this set, discontinue use and contact the manufacturer for a refund or replacement.

Tegu Magnetic Floating Stackers

  • Recalled July 31, 2025 due to loose magnets, which can detach and be swallowed.

  • Swallowed magnets can attract inside the body, causing internal injuries or dangerous blockages.

Magnets in toys should always be secured and never accessible to small children.

KidKraft “Farm to Table” Play Kitchen

  • About 192,000 units were recalled.

  • Hooks used to hold toy utensils could catch on a child’s clothing if they climbed or crawled through the play kitchen, posing a strangulation risk.

Parents are advised to remove the old hooks immediately and request free replacement parts from KidKraft.

Spiral Tower Toy Sold on Shein (by STWUQIKONG)

  • Recalled in August 2025 due to the toy including small balls while being marketed for children under 3.

  • This violates the federal small-ball safety ban, as small balls are among the most dangerous choking hazards.

If you purchased this toy from Shein, stop use and request a full refund.

⚠️ What These Recalls Reveal

The 2025 recall list highlights several common toy hazards:

  • Choking hazards from cracked parts, rattles, balls, or detachable pieces

  • Magnet ingestion risks from toys where magnets loosen over time

  • Strangulation or entrapment risks caused by toy structures

  • Incorrect age labeling, exposing infants and toddlers to toys with small or unsafe parts

  • Weak materials that break under normal play

Understanding these risks helps parents and educators make safer choices when selecting toys for home, school, and childcare environments.

🧩 How Parents & Educators Can Stay Ahead of Recalls

  • Check the CPSC website regularly for updates

  • Inspect toys often, especially those with moving parts or magnets

  • Avoid toys with unlabeled or unclear age recommendations

  • Be cautious with very inexpensive toys bought online, as safety standards vary

  • Immediately remove any toy that cracks, breaks, or sheds pieces

Creating a safe play environment isn’t about fear — it’s about awareness.
